Glamping Days

Spent last night at a travel plaza in Ohio. Though not glam & rather noisy, the dedicated RV parking area had the benefit of electrical hookups (which I didn't need) & a dump station (which I did need before parking the trailer for 2+ months). I got home just before noon, in time for my afternoon discussion group.  My next big trip will launch around Dec 19, so I'll start posting again then. So long for now!  

Had lunch today with an old friend from Lansing. I'm blessed to have lovely friends from different seasons of life & in different corners of the US.  My campsite here is a beauty, deep in the woods. It been fun to be reminded how pretty this corner of MI is.  My plan was to stay here tonight, but I'm going to head out now in order to get home for a discussion group at our local library tomorrow afternoon. 

I'm spending 3 nights in Brighton Recreation Area northwest of Detroit. There are some fun chainsaw sculptures scattered around the rec area, with one serving as a "little free library".              At the entrance is an artistic display of various items from nature, & a pair of concrete flower pots with designs made from leaves.     I had a lovely dinner & visit with old friends of ours. Andy was Manny's boss years ago, & he was a critical part of Manny's career; we've alway been thankful for that & for their continuing friendship. 

Took a few pics of Warren Dunes before leaving this morning. I drove across southern MI to Brighton Recreation Area. The day was cloudy, but felt like summer until mid-afternoon at Brighton, when rain & a cold front moved through & left fall in it's wake.
