Antelope Island State Park, UT - scenery

Took a little walk this morning to a rock outcropping with some nice views. The mountains in the background here are just east of Salt Lake City.

Another island in the Great Salt Lake.

This afternoon, I ambled down to the beach in front of my campsite. The sand here is unusual. Most sand is formed when rocks break down so the grains have sharp edges. This sand is composed of oolites, little particles surrounded by calcium carbonate resulting in rounded grains of sand.
