Spent the day in Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. The classic view of The Gorge did not disappoint.
The Sheep Creek Geological Area has some cool formations.
This fire tower was built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps & was manned by 2 people who lived in the 14' x 14' room up there from spring till fall. When the spotter saw a fire, the messenger hopped on a horse, & rode to civilization to summon the firefighters.
Pretty nice view from the top with the horse pen visible in the foreground.
Spirit Lake Campground is at a high elevation, & just opened due to the big snows this winter.
