Bonus post: more Medicine Wheel, flowers, animals

Manny & I visited the Medicine Wheel 35 or 40 years ago; once there, it's easy to understand why the site came to be considered sacred. This info was interesting to me.

The majority of the mementoes tied to the fence are strips of fabric, bunched a bit in the middle (to form a head, maybe), & tied to the rope fence.

But many other items have been left as well. There are bracelets & a fabric necklace.

There are herb bundles, a shell, a rock with a Christmas ball, & a beaded key chain.

Then there were also items left on the ground. There is a braid made of grass & more herb bundles.

There is a ring on a rock & a crystal in the grass.

And the most interesting item was this painted tortoise shell.

At other stops, there were lupins, these odd pink & white flowers, & some iris; the iris were outside of the visitor center, so the original clumps were likely planted, & then the seeds spread.

This marmot was pretty brave, & these open range cows were just hanging out.
