Guernsey area

 As I drank my morning tea, this little lady passed by right outside my window. 

Then I drove & walked a bit in Guernsey State Park. Besides the scenery, which is shown in the pics below, the park is known for it's excellent structures built as part of the CCC program. I got so interested in this, that I'll do a second bonus post just on those structures. 


Fort Laramie was much more interesting than I'd anticipated, as it intersected with more phases of US history than I'd realized.


The thousands of wagons that travelled the Oregon Trail left ruts up to 5' deep. Many of these wagons stopped at a site called Register Cliffs, where the pioneers carved their names in the sandstone; some more recent visitors have added their names too.
