last day in Utah

Took a short drive along Rt-150 through the Unita Mountains today.

Found a couple of cowboys setting off on a trail ride. (This one's for Joan.)


They were headed to the top of Bald Mountain (below). Hikers who went up yesterday reported needing crampons due to snow still on the trail. Not sure how the horses would do in that. 


When Manny & I drove through the Big Horn Mountains in WY years ago, we learned about the red algae that only grows in snow. There's some in the snow here. 



Walked around Mirror Lake, where many folks were fishing, & I found many varieties of birds & wildflowers. 

Provo Falls was supposedly used in a Disney movie. 

I'm camped in the trees in the foreground of this picture. After my morning outing, I took a mosey through the trees & around the meadow. Quite a few folks arriving for the weekend.
