last full day in Big Horn Mts
Took a little hike this morning to Black Mountain Fire Lookout.
The 2 mile spur road to the trailhead was an adventure all its own, with 2 stream crossings, mud, huge ruts, & big rocks exposed in the road. If I'd know how rugged it was, I wouldn't have attempted it, but there was no where to turn around until the end , so on I went.
The trail was beautiful all the way, but very rocky.
Didn't expect to find this cute little outhouse near the top. You can just see the fire tower on top of the rock outcropping above the outhouse. I took one look, & said, "...ummm...ummm...nope!"
I did get about halfway to the fire tower from the outhouse up a back way around; the views were fantastic, even with the Canadian wildfire smoke.
