a walk down Memory Lane

Today, I explored around the southwestern & southeastern edges of Glacier National Park. These areas have tall steep mountains that get enough rain to be quite green.

The southeastern edges are much dryer with bare mountains.

Then I visited the Two Medicine section of the park. The entrance road to this section is pretty nice.

The road ends at Two Medicine Lake. Forty-five years ago, on our honeymoon, Manny & I took a canoe out on this lake. We took many trips together over the years making many memories along the way, & this was one of our very favorites. The weather that day was cool, cloudy, & dripping rain, but we had fun anyway. We knew all about the main section of the park, the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road, but we especially enjoyed this area, because we hadn't expected it to be so lovely. I took out a kayak today, & it was sad to know that Manny didn't get to come back here again, but the memories were joyful too - we were blessed to have that day here.
