last day in the Mission Mts
Sunset last evening & morning light today over the Mission Reservoir & Mission Mts.
Drove north about 40 miles today, & found this big boy on a ranch. All of the signs around here are in both English & Native tongues. Saw a museum about life in early MT that had many lovely beaded Native outfits in their collection. Huckleberries are in season now & are advertised everywhere, so had a slice of huckleberry pie for lunch.
Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi in the lower 48 states, with over 200 square miles of water & 185 miles of shoreline. Drove down the west side on Wednesday & will drive up the east side tomorrow. Went to an overlook on the southern tip today.
