Quartzite - rally activities

Sooooo, what do we actually DO at this rally???

Mostly, folks just wander around, meet people, & look at each other's trailers. There are some unusual trailers here, & also folks like seeing other trailers like their own to see how others personalize them & how they use the space. There's also lots of talk about favorite campgrounds & places we liked visiting.

There are a few organized activities; organized here means that someone decides to lead an activity, posts when & where it will be on the rally facebook page, & anyone interested wanders over at the appointed hour.

At the Swap Meet Thurs morning, people sold camping equipment they aren't using, & crafts they'd made. In the afternoon, a couple who usually attend the rally offered us a privately led hike to Palm Canyon in nearby Kofa Wildlife Refuge; they are spending this winter as hosts at this refuge. (No pics, because I'll be going to the public hike on Sunday.)

On Fri, there were 3 talks/discussions led by rally attendees. The topics were how to repair a chip in your fiberglass, Harvest Hosts/Boondockers Welcome, & traveling to Alaska.

On Sat, a group got together for rock painting - I just hug around & gabbed with them.

Late each afternoon, the Dome Rock Musicians (anyone with a guitar, ukulele, voice, etc) gets together to perform for anyone who wants to listen. Today, there was even a drummer (sitting in the back with spoons & a plastic bucket).
