camping at a shooting range

Driving inland from the coast toward Lafayette & Baton Rouge, my route took me through a marshy wildlife refuge, where a beautiful red fox trotted across the road in front of me; a bit further on was the Cameron LNG terminal, with an oil tanker docked beside it.

Still further inland were many rice paddies & flowers/weeds that we don't get in PA for at least 2 months yet.

Well, this is different. I'm camping for 2 nights at a shooting range in Sherburne Wildlife Area west of Baton Rouge. Besides a maintenance guy here building frames for trash containers, a half dozen parties came & went from the shooting range, & another half dozen parties came & went from the boat launch. I seem to be the only camper tonight. This place is so well maintained that it must get more use at other times of the year or maybe mostly on weekends; with sun & a high of 77*, it sure isn't the weather keeping the campers away.
