am I in Scotland?
It was a glorious day to explore the southwest corner of NL, a rugged coast known for many shipwrecks. The entire area reminded me so much of Scotland's Highlands.
Driving out this morning, I got a good view of the ferry boat, which I hadn't managed to capture yesterday.
My main destination was Rose Blanche Lighthouse, which is literally at the end of the road. (The communities located east of here are connected by ferries with no roads to the outside world.) The lighthouse, which dates from the 1870s, was beautifully rebuilt in the 1990s.
The town of Rose Blanche encircles a little natural harbor, & the "town square" is especially charming.
The coastal scenery really spoke to me.
What a great spot for one's final resting place.

I finished my day finding the Port aux Basques Lighthouse, & with this view as I ate dinner.
