moving on...

My short drive today took me toward the north east along the Trans Canada Highway (TCH), but still on the southwestern peninsula. The Anguille Mountains ran along St. George's Bay on one side of the highway, while the Long Range Mountains ran along the other. The sky here changes constantly as bands of clouds roll through followed by periods of sunshine. Often, I couldn't see another vehicle in front or behind me, & this is the only main artery across the province.

An area of interest along this stretch is the "Wreckhouse", a short section where unusually strong winds can blow trucks right off the road; it was quite calm there today.

I'm staying 2 nights in Barachois Pond Provincial Park, a lovely spot, where I've seen several trees growing on top of rocks.
