Twillingate area: campsites
I spent the last 2 nights at Dildo Run Provincial Park, an unplanned stop made to rest & regroup a bit. This pic is from the day use area there.
Today, it was a short drive on to Twillingate. I'll boon-dock for 5 nights at an abandoned campground that is a popular site now that it's free (15 rigs here this eve); as an added bonus, flat pads have been graded out, & the picnic tables are still here. Some prefer to be down close to the water, but I chose a site higher up with a broader view. This pic was taken from my site. Love the old wooden boat for added maritime charm.
The cove below is called Sleepy Cove, I'm guessing because the water is fairly calm. The sounds of the sea birds on the nearby cliffs can just be heard above the waves. A bit rugged for some tastes, this spot is really speaking to me.

Beautiful lake & Little cove. After a week of cool weather it's hot hot again as it has been most of the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm back again now that Tom? gave me your exact address again. He's taking good care of the place.
Stewie is catching too many moles and chipmunks. The problem is he tries to bring them in the house. He's caught a bird or two. One he brought into the house and there were feathers everywhere. I still managed to rescue it from him, took it outside and it was able to fly away.
It seems to have been a typical summer here in the quad. Cecilia has had a lot ocompany. She says she needs to have that to keep her young. Judy has been walking Ruby three to four times a day no matter what. God bless her.
I PLAN TO GO BACK AND VISIT ALL YOUR POSTS NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ADDRESS AGAIN.
