Whales & puffins & rocks!

I came back today with over a hundred photos. Even after ditching many of them, there are far too many for 1 post, so I'll just post the ones from the whale watching tour tonight, & include the others in a future post.

We saw several whales surface many times.

The whale tails were pretty cool.

The photographer did a poor job of capturing it, but we did see one breach. Apparently, this is fairly common with humpback whales.

And more tails...

After watching the whales for 1 1/2 hours, it was off to see the puffins & other shore birds - not well captured with a cell phone camera.

This cape looks interesting from a distance & even more interesting close up, with many sea stacks, arches & caves.

This lighthouse that I explored yesterday is one of the most photographed spots in Newfoundland; here it is seen from the sea.

And even the little port of Bonavista looked quaint from the boat.
