a down day

After sleeping in, I took a short local outing.

My first stop was the site of a nonprofit dedicated to protecting Newfoundland ponies. With plans to fence 35 acres with a herd & a visitor centre, they now have a small pasture, a barn, & 2 horses. (https://newfoundlandpony.com/)

I may have picked up lunch at this cute "cafe".

My ferry trip back to Nova Scotia is scheduled for the 26th, & I'm already missing scenes like this one.

Since I mostly pottered around the trailer today, here's a general observation: The number of folks here in NL from far-flung places has surprised me. I've signed guest books after folks from Australia, New Zealand, Venezuela, Japan, Bosnia, etc, & sat next to a man from Luxembourg on a tour boat in Labrador.
