Ferryland area

The scenery in & around Ferryland is classic Newfoundland.

The Ferryland Lighthouse is located on a beautiful headland.

The Colony of Avalon dates from the early 1600s & was quite an extensive settlement. The original buildings have been unearthed & studied by archeologists in recent years. Next door is a beautiful interpretation centre.

The highlight of the day was a "kitchen party". A Newfoundland tradition, a kitchen party involves music, dancing, recitations, & socializing. I didn't take any pics during the party, but this article is about our hosts.

This moose watched over me while I had a bowl of chowder.
