Skerwink Trail

According to Travel & Leisure Magazine, this trail is one of the top 35 trails in all of North America & Europe. A moderate-hard 5.3k/3.3 miles, it did not disappoint. Though the fog shortened the views, it kept the temp down, a blessing as it was in the 80s just a mile or two inland.

There are people on both of these capes, but they're too far away to see in the first one.

These 3 panoramas put together show about 300* of the view from the headland. There were several whales right off the point, close enough to hear them blowing.

It's hard to see, but there's a sailboat entering the bay.

These 3 shots show the sweep from 1 spot. The lighthouse is the Fort Point Lighthouse & the town is Trinity, both of which I visited a couple of days ago. When the fog would blow in & get thick, the fog horn at the lighthouse would sound, which added to the atmosphere.

This sign let me know that I was more than halfway!

I talked a bit with a lady along the trail. Her family is renting a house by the trailhead for 6 months. When she's here, she walks this trail every morning; I suspect that it never gets old.
