still more Bay de Verde

Driving across the cape this morning, I had to stop, as a moose crossed the road in front of me; crappy pic of her, but proof of the sighting. The other 2 moose I've seen on this trip were in the trees, not a wide open view like this one. 

Next stop was Bay Roberts & the Cable Building National Historic Sight - a nice little museum, but less interesting than the related sight I saw yesterday. The trees lining the street in front of the telegraph company houses made me realize that these are the first street trees I've seen anywhere in NL. 

           


The end of the cape beyond Bay Roberts is appropriately called Mad Rocks, a lovely spot for a walk. 
           

           

           

In nearby Port de Grace, I wandered around the Green Point Lighthouse. This point is probably windy much of the time, & today was no exception.
