Presidio Museum, Tucson

A couple of days ago, while in the Presidio District, I enjoyed a visit to the Presidio San Agustin del Tucson Museum.

Only a couple of corners of the original presidio survive, but those give a real feel for the original, in spite of being in the middle of the city.

I somehow didn't take a pic of the interior of the museum, but it was old & dusty, the prefect place to tell the story of the old settlement. These 2 panels especially intrigued me.

Many nearby buildings have been preserved, this one as a lovely coffee shop/bakery.

And two pics from today: The first is a bougainvillea & the other is Kitt Peak, famous as the home of the National Observatory. I didn't drive up Kitt Peak as it was hazy enough to interfere with the view.  (https://noirlab.edu/public/programs/kitt-peak-national-observatory/)

My destination this afternoon was a boon-docking location on BLM land near the village of Why, AZ, just north of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. On arrival there, the vibes felt off, so I went to a small RV park in the town of Why. Not sure why I trust my intuition on these things, but there you are.
