to Quartzite
Quartzite, AZ, is the unofficial "Winter RV Capital of the World". This town of under 3,000 attracts folks from all over the US & Canada, as it's close to the warmest spot in the US, & has many affordable camping options, from full service RV parks to boon-docking on BLM land. Many clubs relating to RVs meet up here in Jan or Feb.
By the time I arrived this afternoon, the weather was sunny & temp was 60*, but sustained winds were up to 27 mph. Since doing the bare minimum to set up, I've hidden inside.
Here's the view from the corner of my trailer, the same as the view from out my back window.
From the front door & side windows, other boon-dockers are visible. The sand picked up by the wind is visible in this pic & has been even worse at times, but it's much better than the 9* for a high at home today.
