typical Anza Borrego landscapes & plants

This park is huge, nearly the size of the state of Rhode Island, so there is a fairly wide variety of landscapes, however most of them are largely shades of brown.

There's also a wide variety of plants. Here are ocotillo & cholla on the left, with barrel cactus (reddish) & agave on the right.

These are some I'll have to learn to identify on my next visit.

I read someplace that prickley pear cactus grow in all 50 states. Yucca seem to be almost as widely distributed, as we had a couple in our yard near Philadelphia when I was a kid.

The pics above are from my touring over the last several days. No touring today as I've developed a painful issue in my knee. So, after doing laundry, running a few errands, taking a shower, & hitching up, I drove to Quartzsite. Tomorrow, I'll go on to Tucson where I have a doctor's appointment on Friday.
