the Heard Museum, Phoenix

Spent several hours exploring this large museum of Native American art, history, & culture. It's actually a campus with a number of buildings & lovely outdoor spaces.

The art collection is huge, very well curated, & includes baskets, pottery, & jewelry.

The beadwork is amazing...

...as is this collection.

There is an in-depth history of the "residential Indian schools" - too depressing to take any photos in there.

A number of cultural artifacts & models are interesting.

My favorite item is this modern "art fence" made of glass & clay.

And I never get tired of seeing flowers in Feb, especially the magenta bougainvilleas.
