more Montana

At about 400 miles, today's drive was a bit shorter than the last 2 days, which allowed me to stop a couple of times to take in the scenery.

Early morning wildlife sightings included a pheasant, 2 small herds of antelope, & a prairie dog town.

I spent a couple of hours here at Pompeys Pillar National Monument 2 years ago. While mildly scenic & historic, it's the least impressive national monument I can recall visiting.

If you didn't recognize the restaurant in the pic yesterday, here's another one in the same chain. Yes, I ate at a HuHot Mongolian Grill 2 days in a row.

My drive took me past 3 small mountain ranges: the Beartooth Mts, the Crazy Mts, & the Absaroka Mts.

And here's the view from my campsite in Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park. It's a pity to only stay here one night, but Alaska is calling.

  1. Oh how beautiful the mountains are in Montana. So many people head to the ocean, but I will always be drawn by majestic mountains. SC.
