ALCAN, Watson Lake to Teslin YT

Over the course of the drive today, the landscape subtly changed again, with the aspen & pines giving way back to cottonwood & spruce. Also, the tree leaves were almost completely out at Watson Lake, but are just opening here at Teslin.

In the mid-1990s, a swim team from Dawson Creek stopped along this stretch of road & created a message using rocks.  Ever since then, folks have been adding their own messages.

The village of Teslin sits on the edge of a beautiful lake. Most of the folks here are Tlingit, a First Nations People.

The Tlingit Heritage Centre has a small but beautiful collection of local cultural artifacts.

The last 7 nights have all been one night stands, so I'm looking forward to having 2 nights here in Teslin. In fact, the places I plan to go tomorrow are all close, so the plan is to walk & not even move the truck. 😊
