Klondike Highway, YT

About a week ago, I took part of the Klondike Highway south from the ALCAN to Skagway. Today, I took another part north from the ALCAN toward Dawson City. The scenery included areas that have been burned & logged punctuated by lakes & the Yukon River. Smoke from the wildfires in Alberta & BC became thicker through the day.

Several lodges in the Yukon & Alaska advertise "world famous cinnamon buns". I don't know about world famous, but these were pretty good & just huge. The ones back at the Testa Lodge deserved the "world famous" designation.

The Tage Cho Hudan Interpretive Centre had a nice collection of First Nations crafts & artifacts.

The Five Finger Rapids are a section of the Yukon River which are navigable with the right kind of boat & and the knowledge of exactly how to go; a number of those coming through during the Klondike Gold Rush lacked one or both of these necessities & died here.

My campsite tonight is right beside a babbling brook & temp is about 70* - perfection.
