Leaving Palmer

Hated to leave Palmer this morning. This shot was taken at the entrance to my campground there.

Alaska Native Heritage Center

This is a beautiful, large complex celebrating all of Alaska's indigenous groups.

In the main exhibit hall, each group had a large niche like this displaying clothing, tools, etc, backed by a huge photograph from the area in which they live(d).

The outdoor exhibits are arranged around this beautiful little lake. My tour around the lake was interrupted when someone spotted a bear on the path; the staff ushered everyone into the building. In Alaska, a bear or a moose might turn up anywhere.

Inside in the "gathering space", there was an exhibition of singing, drumming, & dancing.

These are some miscellaneous items that caught my eye.

Arctic Valley Overlook (between Moose Run Golf Club & Arctic Valley Ski Area)

...& always some flowers

At home, clover is a creeping plant, but here it grows waist high.
