to the Kenai

It was a gray morning leaving Girdwood on the north shore of turn again Arm.  



The Kenai Peninsula is south of Anchorage. It begins at the narrow point between Portage & Whittier & runs south to Homer. So, my posts from Hope, Seward, Homer, Whittier, & a few points in between will all be from the Kenai

Wildlife sightings

today: a pair of trumpeter swans with several cygnets

trip total so far: 

    black bears - 4          deer - 2                grizzlies - 1            moose - 6

    stone sheep - 8        elk - 1                   caribou - 15            bison - 42    

    Dall sheep - 11        porcupines -1         mountain goats - 1

    trumpeter swans - 5
